Fatal Aircraft Incident on Catalina Island


On Thursday afternoon, a small aircraft tragically crashed on Catalina Island, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. Emergency responders arrived promptly but unfortunately discovered no survivors at the crash site. The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported that they received an emergency call regarding the aircraft at approximately 12:23 PM. Upon arrival, first responders encountered a single-engine plane that had gone down in a secluded area of the island.



The downed aircraft was identified as a Sling, a compact two-seater model commonly utilized for private flights. Reports indicate that the plane crashed on the southern part of the island, far from the main city of Avalon. Currently, the specific reasons behind the crash are still under investigation.
