Tiger Woods Arrested for DUI After Rollover Crash in Florida
Tiger Woods Involved in DUI Incident
Golf icon Tiger Woods was taken into custody for driving under the influence following a rollover accident that occurred shortly after 1 PM ET on Friday in Jupiter Island, Florida. Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek provided details during a press briefing, stating that Woods was the sole occupant of the vehicle and exhibited signs of lethargy and impairment at the scene.
Initially, authorities conducted a breathalyzer test, which indicated a zero reading. However, Woods opted not to participate in a urinalysis and refused additional testing. He now faces charges for driving under the influence, property damage, and refusal to comply with a lawful test.
Currently, Woods is being held at the Martin County Jail and, in accordance with Florida law, is expected to remain in custody for a minimum of eight hours. Although no alcohol was detected, police reported that Woods seemed to be under the influence of some form of medication or drug. The incident took place on Beach Road in Jupiter Island, close to his home.
This is a developing story.
