Elbridge Colby, the US undersecretary of war for policy, emphasized the growing alignment and collaboration between the two nations on strategic issues. He stated that effective cooperation does not require complete agreement on all matters. Speaking at the Ananta Centre, Colby remarked that differences and disputes can coexist with a strong partnership, which is rooted in mutual strategic interests rather than mere appearances.

These remarks come in the wake of previous tensions regarding tariffs, particularly after Trump announced a 50 percent tariff on Indian exports due to the country's importation of Russian crude oil. However, this issue has since been resolved, paving the way for a free trade agreement between India and the US.
