Tornado Alert for Worcester and Middlesex Counties

The National Weather Service has announced a tornado warning for central Worcester County and the southern region of Middlesex County, as reported by local news sources. The storm was first identified at approximately 5:23 p.m. near Paxton, located about 9 miles west of Worcester, and is advancing eastward at a speed of 35 mph. The towns that may be affected by the storm, along with estimated times for when conditions could worsen, include:

  • Approximately 5:30 p.m.: Worcester, Shrewsbury, Holden, Leicester, Rutland, Sterling, West Boylston, Paxton, Boylston, Princeton
  • Approximately 5:35 p.m.: Grafton, Northborough, Clinton, Millbury
  • Approximately 5:40 p.m.: Westborough, Lancaster, Berlin
  • Approximately 5:45 p.m.: Marlborough, Hudson, Hopkinton, Southborough, Upton
  • Approximately 5:50 p.m.: Bolton
