On Friday afternoon, a potential tornado was reported in Three Rivers, Michigan, as severe weather conditions impacted West Michigan. This occurred shortly after a tornado was sighted near Edwardsburg, Michigan. The National Weather Service indicated that at approximately 3:52 PM EST, a large and highly dangerous tornado was detected over Three Rivers, moving northeast at a speed of around 40 mph. A tornado warning is currently in effect for both Three Rivers and Centreville, Michigan, until 4:15 PM EST.

Earlier in the day, the National Weather Service office in Northern Indiana had issued a tornado warning for parts of Cass County and St. Joseph County in Michigan, which included areas such as Cassopolis, Edwardsburg, and Marcellus. This warning was set to expire at 3:45 PM EST.

At about 3:30 PM, the weather service revised the warning area, narrowing down the neighborhoods affected while maintaining the alert until the same expiration time. Storm chaser Ryan Hall reported that a tornado had been observed in Cass County earlier, indicating that the twister was on the ground north of Edwardsburg and causing damage as it progressed through the region. Hall also mentioned that the storm was heading towards areas near Mendon, Michigan, and Butler Road as it continued its northeast trajectory. An official statement is awaited.
