A significant storm system exhibiting strong rotation has been detected south of Cleburne, advancing towards Rio Vista. This has led to urgent alerts for residents to find shelter without delay. The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has confirmed that a tornado warning is active for southeastern Johnson County until 7:30 PM CDT. As of 7:00 PM, a severe thunderstorm capable of generating a tornado was identified over Lake Pat Cleburne, approximately 7 miles south of Cleburne, moving southeast at a speed of 25 mph.
Forecasters have indicated the possibility of a tornado, alongside the threat of exceptionally large hail, potentially reaching the size of softballs, which poses a significant risk to life and property. The danger from flying debris is considerable, with expectations of severe damage to homes, vehicles, and trees, especially in areas with mobile homes.
