Savannah Guthrie, the host of the "Today" show, has made a poignant public appeal as the search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues nearly six months after she went missing. In a video shared on Instagram on July 27, the 54-year-old broadcaster expressed her family's ongoing distress and urged anyone with information to step forward. "Our family is in agony. We are trapped in a nightmare that seems endless; our situation remains unchanged," Guthrie stated in the emotional minute-long video. "We will never cease our search for her. The void in our hearts will always be there." She reached out to anyone who might have insights into her 84-year-old mother's whereabouts, saying, "I know you have tried to do the right thing. I am asking you, pleading with you, to make the right choice now. Help us find her. Tell us where we can look for her," she implored. "I genuinely believe it’s never too late to do the right thing. Help us bring this situation to a close. No matter where we’ve been or what we’ve done, there is always a way home." Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1, after returning home from a family game night the night before. Authorities in Arizona suspect she was forcibly taken from her residence. No arrests have been made in connection with her disappearance.

In February, the FBI released images of an unidentified man who appeared to tamper with the camera outside Nancy Guthrie's home shortly before her disappearance. This individual was described as being around 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, of average build, and carrying a black 25-liter "Ozark Trail Hiker Pack" backpack. During an interview with a news outlet on February 20, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that the investigation was "still expanding," despite growing public concern regarding the lack of progress. The FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for information that could lead to Nancy Guthrie's recovery or the arrest and conviction of those involved in her disappearance. Additionally, the Guthrie family has announced a $1 million reward. Nancy Guthrie remains missing. Savannah Guthrie had previously made a video appeal on February 24, describing the search as a harrowing ordeal where "every hour, minute, and second has been filled with agony" since her mother vanished. While she expressed hope for a miracle, she also acknowledged the possibility that her mother may no longer be alive. "She may already be gone," Guthrie reflected. "She may have gone home to the Lord she loves, dancing in heaven with her family. If this is what is meant to be, we will accept it. But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home." Throughout the investigation, the Guthrie family has shared several videos directed at both the suspected kidnapper and anyone who might have information about Nancy's location. Some of their earliest appeals followed the receipt of ransom notes by various media outlets, allegedly from the kidnapper. "We're ready to talk," Savannah's brother, Camron Guthrie, stated in a video posted on February 5. "We haven't received any direct communication. We need you to reach out so we can find a way to communicate and move forward." Law enforcement continues to investigate these ransom notes, with the FBI indicating that some messages may be authentic. In another video released on February 15, Savannah Guthrie directly addressed the suspected abductor, stating: "It's never too late to do the right thing."
