RSS Leader Dattatreya Hosabale Meets Dalai Lama During Himachal Pradesh Visit

During his visit to Himachal Pradesh, RSS leader Dattatreya Hosabale met with the Dalai Lama and participated in a Dharma Conference. He emphasized the need for inner peace to achieve global harmony, referencing Buddhist teachings. The event celebrated the Dalai Lama's 90th birthday and the RSS's centenary, with notable figures in attendance. Ling Rinpoche highlighted the importance of environmental protection and non-violence, urging collective efforts for global peace. The conference attracted hundreds of Buddhist followers from various regions, showcasing a commitment to unity and goodwill.

On his initial day in Himachal Pradesh, Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, the Sarkaryavah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), visited His Holiness the Dalai Lama. After their meeting, he proceeded to the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, where he received a warm welcome and formal introduction. Subsequently, he took part in a Dharma Conference hosted by the Dev Bhoomi Maitri Sangh at the community hall located in Kotwali Bazaar.


During his address, Hosabale stressed the importance of inner peace for achieving global harmony. He referenced the teachings of Lord Buddha, who proclaimed Esha Dharma Sanatan, emphasizing that Sanatan Dharma is inherently linked to nature and founded on principles of purity, compassion, sacrifice, and service to humanity. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by revered saints, including Guru Tegh Bahadur, who laid down his life for the defense of Dharma, and commended the Dalai Lama for his global advocacy for peace.


The conference featured the 7th Ling Rinpoche as the chief guest. This event celebrated the 90th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and marked the centenary of the RSS. Ling Rinpoche praised the Sangh's initiatives in fostering unity, harmony, and goodwill both in India and internationally. He called upon attendees to prioritize environmental conservation, non-violence, and global peace, highlighting India's role as a guiding force for the world.


Numerous Buddhist followers from regions such as Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, and Kangra district participated in the conference. Notable attendees included Prant Sanghchalak Dr. Veer Singh Rangra, Kshetra Karyavah Roshan Yadav, Dr. Krishmat Kumar (Kshetra Pracharak), Sardar Jasveer Singh, Shri Bhushan Raina, Geshe Longjag, Kochang Gompa Negi, Tenzin Chogden, Koncha Migmar, program convener Dr. Thuktan Negi, co-convener Sunil Sharma, and Bhupendra Singh, among other distinguished guests.
