US and Israel Launch Daylight Assault on Iran

On February 28, Israel, in collaboration with the United States, initiated a daylight strike against Iran. In response, Reza Pahlavi, the exiled crown prince of Iran, addressed his fellow countrymen, urging them to seize this moment to 'reclaim Iran'. Through a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Pahlavi characterized the military action as a 'humanitarian intervention' and a 'decisive moment' that could pave the way for a 'final victory' for the Iranian populace.

The assault targeted Tehran, with reports indicating that explosions were heard near the office of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was not present in the city at the time. Prior to the attack, US President Donald Trump remarked on the 'big decision' facing the US regarding Iran, acknowledging the challenges in nuclear negotiations. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also commented, stating that the operation aimed to eliminate the 'existential threat' posed by Iran's regime.

Pahlavi's address called for Iranians to take to the streets, emphasizing the importance of this moment. He stated, 'The assistance that the President of the United States had promised to the brave people of Iran has now arrived. This is a humanitarian intervention, targeting the Islamic Republic and its oppressive machinery, not the Iranian nation. However, the ultimate victory will be achieved by us, the people of Iran, in this final battle. The time to return to the streets is approaching.'

He further described the Islamic Republic as a 'collapsing' regime and urged the military and security forces to align with the Iranian people rather than the regime. Pahlavi reminded them of their oath to protect the nation, stating, 'Your duty is to defend the people, not a regime that has taken our homeland hostage through repression and crime. Join the nation and help ensure a stable and secure transition.'

Addressing President Trump directly, Pahlavi urged caution to prevent civilian casualties, asserting that Iranians are 'natural allies' of the US. He expressed gratitude for American support during Iran's challenging times, stating, 'Despite the brutal repression, the honorable people of Iran have stood bravely for nearly two months. I ask you to exercise utmost caution to preserve the lives of civilians.'

Pahlavi concluded his message by encouraging Iranians to remain calm and prepared for future actions, stating, 'We are very close to final victory. I hope to be with you soon to reclaim and rebuild Iran. Long live Iran.'
