Flight Operations Gradually Resume

Flight services connecting India with various regions in West Asia are slowly returning to normal after a period of significant disruption. Despite the ongoing conflict affecting the area, several airlines, including Air India, Air India Express, and IndiGo, have received regulatory approval to restart their flights to Dubai. However, some routes remain suspended due to ongoing airspace limitations.

On Thursday, March 19, Air India has scheduled a total of 48 flights to and from West Asia, which includes 16 regular flights and an additional 32 non-scheduled services aimed at enhancing connectivity to Dubai. IndiGo announced that it resumed its Dubai operations at 4:00 PM local time on March 18, following updated guidance from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority.

Additionally, Akasa Air is gradually reinstating its services after evaluating safety conditions. The airline has resumed flights between Riyadh and Mumbai, while routes from Jeddah to various Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kochi, and Kozhikode, are still operational. However, flights to and from Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Kuwait will remain suspended until March 21.

The ongoing tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran have severely impacted aviation in the region, leading to restricted airspace and fluctuating safety conditions that continue to disrupt flight schedules.

Following the latest updates from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, IndiGo stated that flight operations to and from Dubai resumed at 4:00 PM on March 18, 2026. The airline emphasized its commitment to reuniting customers with their families and provided a schedule of flights for the following day, contingent on current safety conditions and necessary regulatory approvals.
