On Tuesday morning, emergency teams from various local agencies rushed to the scene of a plane crash in Avon, according to officials. The incident occurred in Franklin County around 11:00 AM local time. At this point, authorities have not confirmed any injuries.
Mike Bacon, the Fire Chief of Rangeley, stated that the downed aircraft was operated by the Maine Warden Service. The Maine Department of Public Safety, located in Bangor, is leading the investigation into the crash. Initial reports from emergency scanners indicated that at least one individual on board was alive, although this information had not been verified by early afternoon.
By approximately 11:45 AM, responders were instructed to "stand by," and shortly after noon, all units were told to stand down. Several game wardens subsequently arrived at the crash site.
