Pakistan's PM Announces US-Iran Peace Agreement to End Middle East Conflict
Historic Peace Agreement Announced
Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, has revealed that a peace agreement has been established between the United States and Iran, aimed at resolving ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. In a statement shared on X, Mr. Sharif noted that both nations have consented to an "immediate and permanent cessation of military actions across all fronts, including Lebanon." He announced that an official signing ceremony is scheduled to occur in Switzerland on June 19.
Mr. Sharif expressed his satisfaction, stating, "After extensive negotiations, we are delighted to declare that the Peace Deal between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been finalized." He mentioned that mediators would organize a series of preparatory meetings in the upcoming days to facilitate the agreement's implementation and the formal signing event.
He extended his gratitude to both Washington and Tehran for their dedication to finding a diplomatic resolution and acknowledged the significant role played by regional mediators. Special thanks were given to Qatar for its assistance in securing the agreement, along with appreciation for the contributions of Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
With the agreement now established, Mr. Sharif indicated that mediators would conduct a series of meetings this week to set the groundwork for technical discussions and the official signing ceremony. This announcement follows a period marked by increased tensions and military confrontations that raised fears of a broader regional conflict. As of now, neither Washington nor Tehran has provided further details regarding the agreement or its implementation mechanisms.
