No Indian Casualties in Saudi Arabia Projectile Incident: Embassy Confirms

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh has confirmed that there were no fatalities among Indian nationals following a projectile incident in Saudi Arabia. One Indian citizen was injured and is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital. The embassy has been in contact with local authorities and provided support to the injured individual. Initial reports indicated that an Indian national was among the deceased, but further clarification revealed that the fatalities were of Bangladeshi nationality. Update from the Indian Embassy in Riyadh


Dubai: The Indian Embassy in Riyadh reported on Monday that there were no fatalities among Indian nationals following a projectile strike on a residential area in Saudi Arabia.


The embassy confirmed that one Indian citizen sustained injuries during the incident on Sunday and is currently receiving medical care at a local government hospital.


Expressing relief, the mission stated on social media that there were no Indian deaths in the tragic event that occurred in Al Kharj the previous evening.


The embassy has been actively coordinating with Saudi authorities regarding the situation.


Counsellor for Community Welfare, Y Sabir, visited the injured individual on Sunday night to provide support, as confirmed by the embassy.


The injured person is being treated at a government facility in Al Kharj, according to the mission's updates.


Initially, Saudi officials reported that an Indian national was among two fatalities resulting from the military projectile hitting a residential compound associated with a maintenance and cleaning firm in Al Kharj. However, the identities of the deceased were not disclosed.


In a follow-up social media announcement on Monday, the Saudi Civil Defence clarified that the two deceased individuals were of Bangladeshi nationality, along with eleven injured Bangladeshi nationals and one injured Indian national.
