Israeli PM's Firm Stance on Iran's Nuclear Ambitions

Tel Aviv: On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his commitment to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, stating that military action would be taken if necessary. Speaking during an interview with Channel 14, he emphasized that as long as he holds office, Iran will not be permitted to develop nuclear capabilities.

Netanyahu recounted Israel's previous military interventions in Iran, asserting that the nation had acted twice to eliminate what he termed an "existential threat" and would not hesitate to do so again. He declared, "We entered Iran twice to save ourselves from destruction. There will be a third time if necessary. As long as I'm Prime Minister, Iran will not have nuclear weapons." He also indicated that Israel's efforts against Iran and its regional allies are ongoing.

When questioned about the status of military operations against groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, Netanyahu responded that such operations would "never end." He stated, "Israel is stronger than ever, and we have pushed back these threats. We have greatly weakened them. We still have work to do… We need to deal with the remnants of the Iranian axis and seize opportunities for peace agreements," as reported by a local media outlet.

Netanyahu's Visit to Lebanon

On the same day, Netanyahu made a visit to southern Lebanon, an area that has been under Israeli occupation. During this visit, he asserted that Israeli forces would remain in the region until the threat posed by Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, is effectively neutralized. This visit marked Netanyahu's first trip to the territory following a recent security agreement between the Israeli and Lebanese governments, facilitated by the United States.
