Cole Tomas Allen has recently become a focal point of media attention following his arrest as a suspect in a shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. An intriguing twist emerged when a social media user, Henry Martinez, posted a peculiar tweet in 2023 that referenced "Cole Allen." This account, featuring a Pepe meme, has no other tweets, making the resurfacing of this post even more perplexing.
As Allen's name gained traction, the old tweet went viral, leading to widespread confusion and speculation online. Complicating matters further, a 2014 NASA publication authored by a Henry Martinez was discovered, raising questions about whether this individual is the same person behind the tweet.
In 2014, Allen participated in a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The overlap in timelines has sparked numerous conspiracy theories, despite the lack of evidence linking the two individuals.
Authorities reported that Allen, a 31-year-old resident of Torrance, California, was apprehended while attempting to enter the event armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and several knives. Fortunately, President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, First Lady Melania Trump, and other attendees were unharmed.
After his arrest, Allen was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, and Metropolitan Police Department interim chief Jeffery W. Carroll confirmed that he was not injured by gunfire. Allen is expected to face court proceedings following this incident.
According to his online profiles, Cole Tomas Allen graduated from the California Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering in 2017. He later obtained a master’s degree in computer science from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2025, as indicated on his LinkedIn profile.
