Around 4:45 PM, individuals from Houston to Katy and Fulshear reported experiencing a loud bang, a bright flash, and, in some instances, a minor tremor. An ABC13 journalist was among the first to share the news, posting on Facebook, "It seems a meteor might have exploded somewhere west of Houston around 4:45 PM. Did anyone manage to capture it on video or hear/feel the explosion?" Additionally, a reporter from KPRC reached out to the public for any footage, inquiring if anyone had witnessed a shooting star or meteor and requesting any photos or videos taken during the incident.
