President Donald Trump has expressed his appreciation to King Mohammed VI of Morocco following the announcement that a significant highway has been named in his honor. In a message shared on Truth Social, Trump stated: "Thank you to Highly Respected Mohammed VI, the King of Morocco — Such a Great Honor! I look forward to traveling the entire length of this Great Highway someday, hopefully soon!" This newly designated route, officially called the President Donald J Trump Highway, spans approximately 655 miles, connecting Tiznit in southern Morocco to Dakhla, located in the disputed region of Western Sahara.

Morocco has released a promotional video highlighting the highway project, attributing its inception to the "visionary leadership" of King Mohammed VI and the "historic courage of President Donald J Trump." The highway traverses diverse landscapes, including deserts and coastal regions, and is anticipated to enhance transportation links to Dakhla, where a significant port is under construction, expected to be completed by 2028.

The highway runs through Western Sahara, a territory that Morocco predominantly governs, although its sovereignty is still a matter of international dispute. This naming adds to a growing list of infrastructure and public facilities that have been named after Trump during his presidency. Recently, Palm Beach airport was renamed President Donald J Trump International Airport. Additionally, there have been proposals in Congress to rename Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia and New York's Penn Station in his honor.

In other locations, lawmakers in Oklahoma have designated a portion of US Route 287 after Trump, and a courthouse in Lyon County, Nevada, also carries his name. Other renaming efforts include Palm Avenue in Hialeah, Florida, and sections of Florida State Road 80 and US Route 98 in Palm Beach County. Future projects are in the works, such as a bridge in Jefferson County, Tennessee, and a highway in South Carolina. Trump's name has also been associated with the US Institute of Peace, and it is anticipated to be part of the official name of a ballroom currently under construction at the White House. Furthermore, he has expressed interest in having the new Washington Commanders stadium in Washington DC named after him.

Earlier this year, the Kennedy Center board, after being reconstituted with Trump-appointed members, voted to add his name to the venue. However, a court later deemed this action unlawful, resulting in the removal of his name from the building's exterior. Trump has also previously suggested that he could be added to Mount Rushmore, although no formal steps have been taken to advance this idea.
