Medvedev Responds to European Criticism Over Drone Incident in Romania

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, has strongly criticized European leaders for their reactions to a suspected Russian drone crash in Romania. He urged EU nations to remain silent, asserting that their support for Ukraine makes them complicit in the conflict. Medvedev warned that such incidents could continue as long as the war persists, emphasizing the need for European citizens to prepare for ongoing tensions. His comments came after NATO's Secretary General reaffirmed the alliance's commitment to defend its territory following the incident, which resulted in injuries and emergency responses in Romania.

Medvedev's Strong Rebuttal

Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, has firmly rejected the backlash from European leaders regarding a suspected Russian drone crash into a residential area in Romania. He urged EU nations to 'be quiet' and cautioned that such incidents may persist as long as support for Ukraine continues. In a statement on Russia's social media platform Max, Medvedev emphasized the need to identify the drone's origin but deemed the Western criticism unwarranted.

Medvedev stated, 'All EU countries need to shut up on this matter.' He accused European nations of being active participants in the conflict against Russia, asserting that their involvement is no longer debatable. He claimed that these nations provide weapons, components, and intelligence that contribute to attacks on Russian soil, thereby escalating the situation.

He further warned European citizens that they would not find peace while the war persists, hinting at the likelihood of more incidents. 'They had better be prepared – this will continue to happen. There is a war going on!' he declared.

His remarks followed NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte's assertion that the alliance is prepared to defend its territory after the drone incident in Romania, which resulted in injuries and triggered emergency responses from local authorities. European leaders, including Ursula von der Leyen, condemned the incident as part of Russia's increasing aggression in the area. Meanwhile, Russia has denied any involvement in the drone crash, with Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirming that President Vladimir Putin has been briefed on the matter.
