Litton Das Injury Update Ahead of Zimbabwe ODIs
Litton Das Injury Status
According to Bangladesh's physiotherapist Bayzedul Islam Khan, as reported by a sports news outlet, Litton Das is not expected to be ready for the first ODI against Zimbabwe on July 6. However, he is anticipated to recover in time for the subsequent matches on July 9 and 11.
"Litton is dealing with a Grade I injury to his left calf muscle, which typically requires two to three weeks for recovery. With two weeks already elapsed, we hope he will be fit by the end of the third week," Bayzedul stated. He added, "The chances of him participating in the first ODI are very slim, but if he meets all fitness criteria, he should be available for the second and third ODIs."
Team Arrival and Squad Update
Team manager Nafees Iqbal confirmed that Litton Das is set to arrive in Zimbabwe on July 1, while the rest of the Bangladesh team is already in the country.
Despite not being fully fit, Litton has been named in the ODI squad for the three-match series in Zimbabwe, following the ongoing one-off Test. He last played in the ODI series against Australia in mid-June but missed the subsequent T20I series, which Bangladesh lost 3-0, and was also absent from the Zimbabwe Test.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz's Return
In other news, captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz has rejoined the ODI squad after missing the third ODI against Australia due to a concussion. He had previously been rested from the Test squad for the Zimbabwe tour.
