Impressive Start at Jerez

Indian racer Kavin Quintal, representing the BMW EasyRace Team, kicked off his 2026 Copa de Espana de Velocidad season with remarkable success, achieving two podium finishes during the inaugural round at the Circuito de Jerez. The 21-year-old from Chennai qualified on the front row and showcased his skills in two thrilling races on his BMW Superbike. He secured a second-place finish in Race 1 and followed it up with a third-place finish in Race 2, establishing himself as a strong contender in the fiercely competitive Superbike 1000cc category.

Strong Performance and Team Partnership

Kavin's impressive performance came after he clocked the second-fastest qualifying time of 1:45.549. In Race 1, he finished just 0.605 seconds behind the winner, Juan Maria Zarza, and added another podium with a third-place finish in Race 2. These results mark a promising start for Kavin, who joined the BMW EasyRace Team in April after a standout wildcard appearance in 2025, where he finished fourth in his superbike debut.

Kavin's Commitment to Growth

"I am thrilled with how the season has begun. Joining the EasyRace Team for a full season is a significant milestone in my career, and the team's support has been invaluable in helping me adapt quickly. Achieving two podium finishes in the opening round is very motivating, but this is just the start. The championship is lengthy and highly competitive, and my goal is to keep learning, improving, and consistently competing at the front while representing India on the global stage," Kavin expressed.

India's Lone Competitor

Kavin has emerged as one of India's most promising motorcycle racing talents, being the only Indian rider in this year's Copa de Espana de Velocidad. He has also gained recognition as one of the first Indians to participate in the Supersport 300 World Championship during a WorldSBK weekend, highlighting his growing influence in the international racing arena. With two commendable podium finishes already secured, Kavin and the EasyRace Team are well-positioned as they gear up for the upcoming rounds of the 2026 championship.
