Israel's Netanyahu Promises Major Offensive Against Iran Following Khamenei's Death
Netanyahu's Commitment to Israel's Security
Tel Aviv: Following the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei due to coordinated strikes by the US and Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his long-standing desire to deliver a decisive blow to the Iranian regime, a goal he has pursued for four decades. He emphasized that this conflict is crucial for Israel's "existence and future." Netanyahu acknowledged the vital support from the United States during this military operation against Iran, stating, "We are engaged in a campaign where we are deploying the full strength of the IDF as never before to secure our existence and future. Additionally, we have the backing of the United States, my friend, President Donald Trump, and the US military," he remarked. "This alliance empowers us to achieve what I have aspired to do for 40 years—deliver a significant strike against the terrorist regime. That is my promise, and we will fulfill it," he added.
Netanyahu indicated that Israel's offensive against Iran would persist, stating, "I just finished a meeting with the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff, and the head of the Mossad. I have given orders to continue our campaign against the Iranian regime." He confirmed the elimination of Khamenei and several high-ranking officials from the oppressive regime, adding, "Our forces are currently targeting the core of Tehran with escalating intensity, and this will intensify in the days ahead."
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the loss of Israeli lives due to Iran's retaliatory actions, expressing his condolences: "These are indeed painful days. We mourn the loss of dear individuals here in Tel Aviv and now in Beit Shemesh. My heart goes out to the families, and on behalf of all Israelis, I wish a swift recovery to the injured."
Khamenei's Death in US-Israel Airstrikes: The Iranian Supreme Leader was killed during airstrikes conducted by the United States and Israel on February 28, targeting his residence in Tehran. Iranian state media confirmed his death on March 1, declaring a period of 40 days of national mourning. Khamenei had been in power for 47 years since 199. Trump characterized the strikes as part of a larger initiative aimed at neutralizing threats posed by Iran's nuclear and missile capabilities, with further bombings planned as necessary.
