Iran's Response to Airstrikes
On Thursday, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei declared a commitment to avenge the deaths of his father, Ali Khamenei, and other senior officials due to airstrikes conducted by the United States and Israel on Tehran. In a broadcast statement on Iranian state television, he emphasized that Iran would not allow the 'criminal aggressors' to escape justice. He stated, 'With the permission of Almighty God, we will ensure that the criminal aggressors face consequences. We will seek compensation for every injury caused, blood money for the martyrs, and reparations for the disabled veterans of this conflict.' Furthermore, he indicated that Iran would enhance its governance over the Strait of Hormuz, asserting, 'We will embark on a new phase in managing the Strait of Hormuz.'
