Iran's Strong Response to US Naval Actions
Dubai: Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, expressed strong condemnation on Thursday regarding the recent sinking of an Iranian frigate by a US submarine near the coast of Sri Lanka. He stated that the United States would "bitterly regret the precedent it has established".
This statement marks the first official acknowledgment from the Iranian government about the sinking of the IRIS Dena in the Indian Ocean.
Araghchi took to social media platform X to declare, "The US has committed an atrocity at sea, 2,000 miles from Iran's shores."
He further elaborated, stating, "The frigate Dena, which was a guest of the Indian Navy and carried nearly 130 sailors, was attacked in international waters without any warning. The US will come to bitterly regret this precedent."
