In related news, Iran commenced the funeral procession for Khamenei in Tehran on the same day. His flag-draped coffin, alongside those of family members who perished in the February 28 airstrikes by the United States and Israel, was transported through the capital on a specially adorned truck as emotional crowds gathered to pay their respects.

The coffins will traverse the streets of Tehran en route to Mehrabad International Airport over a span of 12 hours, as stated by Revolutionary Guard Gen. Hasan Hasanzsdeh, who is overseeing the procession. As the funeral progresses, mourners have increasingly voiced threats to seek vengeance for Khamenei’s death.
