Tensions escalate as Iranian state media claims that the US and Israel have attacked oil facilities in Iran. The airstrikes targeted the South Pars Gas Field, with videos showing significant smoke in the area. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, but the extent of the damage remains uncertain. This incident follows a series of retaliatory actions by Iran against Gulf nations since the conflict reignited on February 28. The situation continues to develop, raising concerns about further escalations in the region.

Iranian Oil Facilities Targeted

Tehran: On March 18, Iranian state media reported that the United States and Israel were responsible for attacks on Iran's oil infrastructure. According to Iranian state television and the IRNA news agency, airstrikes struck oil facilities located in Asaluyeh, situated in the southern Bushehr province. In addition, numerous videos depicting the aftermath of the assault on the South Pars Gas Field emerged online. The footage showed a dense cloud of black smoke enveloping the area. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries, and the full extent of the damage remains unclear.

Iran reportedly shares this offshore field in the Persian Gulf with Qatar. Since the onset of hostilities on February 28, following airstrikes by the US and Israel on Tehran, Iran has retaliated by targeting oil facilities in Gulf nations, including Qatar. The Fars news agency in Iran indicated that gas tanks and sections of the gas field's refinery were damaged. According to reports, workers have been moved to safety.
