Indian National Faces Backlash Over Alleged Online Grooming Incident in the UK

A 27-year-old Indian national, Pravna Bhatt, has come under fire after a video surfaced showing him being confronted by a child protection group in the UK for allegedly attempting to groom a minor online. The footage reveals Bhatt admitting to sending explicit messages to someone he believed was a 14-year-old girl. Despite acknowledging the potential legal consequences, he reportedly continued the inappropriate communication. This incident has raised concerns about online safety and the prevalence of such cases, as it follows another similar arrest of an Indian man in Coventry earlier this year.

Outrage Over Allegations Against Indian National

A 27-year-old Indian citizen residing in the UK has ignited significant public anger following the release of a video that shows him being confronted by an online child protection group. The individual, named Pravna Bhatt, was approached by a local group known as 'British patriots' over allegations of attempting to sexually groom a minor. In the widely circulated footage, Bhatt is seen pleading for mercy after being questioned about his online interactions with individuals he believed to be underage. It remains unclear whether he was communicating with an actual minor or an undercover profile.

In the video, Bhatt disclosed that he relocated to the UK three years ago on a student visa and is currently on a post-study visa after completing his studies at the University of Leeds. During the confrontation, he admitted to sending sexually explicit messages to someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl. Bhatt appeared to be aware of the legal consequences of his actions, as he reportedly texted, "I will go to jail," accompanied by laughing emojis, upon discovering the girl's age in their chat history.

Despite recognizing the seriousness of his actions, he allegedly persisted in the inappropriate communication, urging the girl to 'sneak' into his room for sexual encounters. He even sent her a video of himself engaging in masturbation and attempted to borrow money from her, asking her to cover the cost of a hotel room for them. Bhatt was reportedly caught while waiting to meet the girl.

When confronted, Bhatt admitted to his misconduct but pleaded with the activists not to alert the authorities. "This is the first time I have done this, and it will be the last time... Please give me a last chance... I'm really sorry," he was heard saying in the video. This incident is not isolated; earlier this year, another Indian man, Gureet Jeetesh, was arrested in Coventry under similar allegations of online grooming.
