India's Strong Condemnation of the Airstrike

New Delhi: On Tuesday, India expressed its outrage over the Pakistani airstrikes that targeted a hospital and rehabilitation center in Kabul, resulting in the deaths of over 400 civilians and injuring at least 250 others. The Indian government accused Islamabad of attempting to disguise a massacre as a legitimate military operation.

The airstrike, which struck the Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital in Kabul, was reported by Taliban officials as one of the most devastating incidents in the city’s recent history.

Taliban authorities stated that the attack occurred around 9 PM on Monday, targeting the 2,000-bed facility.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India condemned the assault, labeling it a "cowardly and unconscionable act of violence" that unjustifiably targeted civilians in a non-military establishment. They emphasized that Pakistan is attempting to frame this tragedy as a military action.

India characterized the airstrike as a "heinous act of aggression" that not only undermines Afghanistan's sovereignty but also poses a significant threat to regional stability.

The MEA remarked that this incident reflects Pakistan's ongoing pattern of reckless behavior and its attempts to shift its internal failures onto neighboring countries through violent means.

The timing of the attack, during Ramadan—a sacred month for Muslims—was highlighted as particularly reprehensible, as it is traditionally a time for peace and reflection.

The MEA stated, "No faith, law, or moral code can justify the intentional targeting of a hospital and its patients."

India urged the global community to hold those responsible for this "criminal act" accountable and to put an end to Pakistan's targeting of Afghan civilians.
