Authorities in the Netherlands have thwarted a potential murder plot aimed at the future queen and her sister. A 33-year-old man is set to face court next week after being accused of planning to attack Princess Catharina-Amalia, 22, and Princess Alexia, 20, back in February, as reported by the Telegraph. The suspect was apprehended in The Hague while in possession of two axes inscribed with the names 'Alexia' and 'Mossad', along with the phrase 'Sieg Heil', a chant associated with Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime. Officials also found a handwritten note featuring the words 'Amalia', 'Alexia', and 'bloodbath'. Due to Dutch privacy regulations, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has not disclosed the suspect's identity or the motive behind the planned attack. A procedural hearing is scheduled for Monday.

Catharina-Amalia, the daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, is the heir to the Dutch throne, while Alexia is next in line. It is important to note that the royal family, known as the House of Orange-Nassau, has a historical Protestant background and is not of Jewish descent.

Previous Threats Against Princess Amalia

The news of the February plot comes as the royal family, including Amalia and Alexia, participated in public celebrations for King’s Day in Dokkum on April 27, as reported by the New York Post. Amalia has been the target of various alarming schemes, including a suspected kidnapping plot involving gang members and then-Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. In 2022, authorities intercepted messages between gang members discussing plans that involved both Amalia and Rutte, who currently serves as NATO's Secretary-General. Following these threats, Queen Maxima decided to remove Amalia from her college housing, bringing her back to the safety of the royal palace just a month after she began her studies.
