A Surprising Find in the River

Many of us have fantasized about stumbling upon a treasure chest filled with riches, leading to instant wealth. While this is often just a dream, sometimes it becomes a reality. This was the case for a father-son duo in England, who found a safe stuck to their magnet.

The Discovery of the Safe

Fifteen-year-old George Tindley and his 52-year-old father Kevin reside in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Both share a passion for fishing and have an unusual hobby of magnet fishing, searching for mysterious items in rivers.

Recently, while fishing in the Witham River, they brought along a magnet to see what unique objects they could pull from the water. To their surprise, the magnet caught onto something heavy, which turned out to be a safe.

Opening the Safe Reveals a Shocking Surprise

Initially puzzled about how the safe had become attached to their magnet, curiosity soon took over. They decided to open it, although it proved to be quite a challenge. After some effort, they managed to unlock it.

Upon opening the safe, they were astounded to find it filled with money—approximately AUD 150,000. Along with the cash, they discovered a bank card and a certificate, which piqued their interest.

Returning the Safe to Its Owner

After reading the documents, they found the name Rob Everett, a businessman. The duo decided to return the safe to its rightful owner. They took it to Rob, who was equally shocked to see his long-lost safe and the money inside.

Rob explained that the safe had been stolen from his office in 2000, and its whereabouts had been unknown for over two decades. He praised the honesty of the father and son, offering them jobs at his wealth management company whenever they wished.
