Dubai Suspends Aircraft Landing Permissions Amid Regional Security Concerns
Dubai Airports Halt Incoming Flights
The authorities in Dubai have temporarily halted landing permissions for all aircraft at both Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) due to the escalating security situation in the Middle East. The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority communicated this decision to foreign airline operators, emphasizing the need for safety for airlines, crew, passengers, and the general public.
In their message, they stated, "To all foreign operators! We are writing in light of the current regional situation and in the interest of safety. Please be advised that landing permissions for flights into DXB/DWC are suspended until further notice." They assured that updates regarding the resumption of landing permissions would be provided by the relevant authorities in Dubai.
Following this announcement, SpiceJet, an Indian airline, indicated that its flights to and from Dubai might experience disruptions. They noted, "Due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East, our operations to/from Dubai are restricted, which may lead to changes in flight schedules. We are in touch with passengers regarding these updates via SMS and email on their registered contacts."
SpiceJet also encouraged travelers to check their flight status online. They stated, "Passengers should monitor their flight status at spicejet.com/#status and can reach out to our 24/7 Reservation Helpline at +91 (0)124 4983410 or +91 (0)124 7101600 for immediate assistance." IndiGo also confirmed the suspension, posting on X, "According to the latest update from Dubai Airport authorities, landing permissions for flights into DXB have been suspended until further notice due to the current regional situation."
