Drone Attack on Putin's Residence

Moscow: On Monday, Russian officials reported that 91 long-range drones from Ukraine attempted to strike President Vladimir Putin's official residence located in the Novgorod region, situated north of Moscow.

In a broadcasted address, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the drone assault, which occurred overnight from Sunday to Monday, was thwarted without causing any damage as all drones were intercepted.

Lavrov cautioned that Russia maintains the right to retaliate at a suitable moment.

He characterized the Ukrainian drone strikes as efforts to undermine ongoing peace negotiations led by Kyiv and its allies.

Furthermore, he mentioned that while Moscow's position on peace discussions with Ukraine may evolve, talks will persist with the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to Kremlin foreign policy aide Yury Ushakov, Putin informed Trump about the drone incident during a phone conversation on Monday, leaving the U.S. President visibly shocked.
