Devastating Drone and Missile Strikes Hit Kyiv: What You Need to Know
Nighttime Assault on Kyiv
Kyiv: Ukrainian officials reported that overnight drone and missile strikes from Russia resulted in three fatalities and left at least 16 individuals injured in the capital.
In a separate incident, the western city of Lviv was targeted with an unidentified ballistic missile, according to Mayor Andriy Sadoviy. The Ukrainian Air Force's Western Command noted that the missile was traveling at an astonishing speed of 13,000 kilometers per hour, and investigations are ongoing to determine its specific type.
Multiple districts in Kyiv were affected by the assault, as stated by Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration. In the Desnyanskyi district, a drone crashed onto the roof of a high-rise building, while another residential structure sustained damage to its lower floors.
In the Dnipro district, debris from a drone struck a multi-storey building, igniting a fire.
Kyiv's Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the attack caused disruptions to both running water and electricity in various parts of the capital.
This assault occurred shortly after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned the nation about Russia's plans for a significant offensive, indicating that the harsh winter conditions in the capital could be exploited, making roads and streets dangerously icy.
