Incident at Jersey Shore Leads to Immigration Detention

A woman from Canada, Kaitlyn E Tracey, aged 33, has been moved to an immigration detention center in New Jersey following her arrest for allegedly assaulting a teenager who was wearing pro-Trump attire at the Jersey Shore. Her husband reported that she is currently in the custody of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after facing multiple charges, including endangering a child's welfare, simple assault, harassment, and obstruction of justice.

According to police reports, the incident occurred over the Fourth of July weekend in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, where Tracey reportedly confronted two teenage girls dressed in what were described as "patriotic colored" sweatpants, striking one of them in the face and body.

Matthew Geroni, her husband, shared a video on TikTok stating that Tracey is being held at Delaney Hall, an ICE facility located in Newark. He expressed his efforts to secure her release, even if it means returning to Canada. The couple has been residing in Asbury Park, New Jersey, after Tracey entered the US on a Canadian passport in 2024.

Delaney Hall has recently been a site of protests and confrontations between anti-ICE activists and law enforcement. In a TikTok video from June, Geroni humorously depicted both sides of the protests, starting with a scene labeled "peaceful protesters literally standing in their designated first amendment zone" before transitioning to a mock gun gesture referencing the police and ICE presence at the facility.

Geroni has not responded to requests for further comments. Additionally, his TikTok account features videos from last August that contained derogatory remarks aimed at former President Donald Trump and his family, including a post that wished harm upon them.

Since Tracey's detention, Geroni has been appealing for financial assistance to hire an immigration attorney and to fund his wife's jail account, stating, "I'm so f--king broke." The couple has been married for approximately three years.
