Zahara Jolie-Pitt Seeks Name Change: A Look at the Family Dynamics
Zahara's Decision to Change Her Last Name
Once a beloved couple in Hollywood, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt first crossed paths while filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005. After a few years of dating, they tied the knot in 2014. However, their marriage ended in divorce just two years later. Despite their separation, they share six children: Vivienne, Maddox, Shiloh, Pax, Knox, and Zahara. Recently, their daughter Zahara has reportedly decided to legally change her last name, dropping 'Pitt' from her identity.
Zahara's Legal Name Change
According to reports from TMZ, Zahara has filed the necessary legal paperwork to change her name from Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie. The documents were submitted on April 28, although the reasons for this change have not been disclosed. Zahara is expected to appear before a judge on September 28 to discuss her request. Interestingly, after graduating from Spelman College last month, she had already started using Zahara Marley Jolie.
During her graduation ceremony, Zahara chose to omit 'Pitt' from her name, and it was noted that Brad Pitt did not attend the event. Reports suggest that Zahara's relationship with her father has been strained in recent years. Notably, her siblings, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Maddox, have also opted to drop their father's surname. Shiloh legally changed her name to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie in 2024, while Vivienne chose to be recognized as a Jolie in the Playbill for the Broadway production of The Outsiders. Maddox also made the decision to remove 'Pitt' from his name last May.
