Yogi Adityanath Honors Nana Patekar and Shankar Mahadevan for Their Impactful Contributions
Celebrating Artistic Contributions in Uttar Pradesh
During a recent event in the state capital, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recognized the remarkable efforts of actor Nana Patekar in aiding farmers affected by suicide crises, alongside singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan for his revitalization of the Uttar Pradesh Police anthem "Khaki Ka Sitara" with his exceptional voice. Adityanath emphasized the vital roles both artists play in their respective domains.
In his speech, Adityanath reflected on Patekar's unwavering commitment to supporting farmers in Maharashtra during a period marked by tragic suicides. He remarked, "Nana Patekar is not just an actor; he embodies sensitivity and compassion. When farmers in Maharashtra faced dire circumstances, it was Nana Patekar who stepped forward to assist them." The Chief Minister expressed admiration for Patekar's selfless dedication, noting his efforts were made without seeking public recognition.
Beyond his charitable work, Patekar has also played a role in the Uttar Pradesh Police's initiative to raise awareness about cyber-security. Adityanath expressed gratitude to the National Award-winning actor for his participation in a short film aimed at educating the public about digital threats, including scams related to online arrests. This initiative highlights Patekar's commitment to addressing social issues beyond his film career.
Adityanath also lauded Mahadevan for his enchanting singing abilities, stating that his version of "Khaki Ka Sitara" has transformed the song into something new. "His name is Shankar, and true to his name, he embodies both Shankar and Mahadev," the Chief Minister noted, highlighting the song's launch during the auspicious month of Sawan as a fitting homage to Mahadevan's talent.
The event saw the presence of distinguished guests, including Patekar, Mahadevan, Uttar Pradesh DGP Rajeev Krishna, and various senior police and government officials. IPS officer Rahul Srivastav, who scripted the cyber-awareness short film featuring Patekar, also served as the creative director for the UP Police anthem "Khaki Ka Sitara," which was written by renowned poet-lyricist Alok Shrivastav. Actor Karan Aanand, who played a key role in the song, was also in attendance at the launch.
