Scream 7 has made a significant impact at the box office, nearing a milestone against The Bourne Identity. With impressive domestic and international earnings, the film is on the verge of surpassing the iconic action-thriller's domestic total. As it approaches the end of its theatrical run, fans are eager to see if it can outpace its predecessor globally. The film introduces a new Ghostface killer, forcing Sidney Prescott to confront her past to protect her family. Will Scream 7 secure its place in cinematic history?

Scream 7's Box Office Journey

After spending seven weeks in theaters, "Scream 7" continues to make waves at the box office. On April 16, the film earned $28,000 from 618 locations across North America, pushing its domestic total to an impressive $121.6 million. The sequel, helmed by Kevin Williamson, has also raked in $84.9 million internationally, bringing its global earnings to $206.5 million. This latest chapter has significantly boosted the Scream franchise's total domestic earnings to a staggering $643.4 million, averaging around $92 million per film.

As "Scream 7" nears the end of its theatrical run, it is on the brink of surpassing the domestic earnings of Matt Damon’s renowned action-thriller "The Bourne Identity," which debuted in 2002. Current box office figures reveal that "Scream 7" needs just $0.1 million more to outpace "The Bourne Identity" in domestic earnings. If the slasher sequel remains in theaters for at least another week, it has a solid chance of reaching this milestone.

However, the global scenario tells a different story, as "Scream 7" is trailing "The Bourne Identity" by about $7.5 million. Given its current box office trajectory, it appears unlikely that "Scream 7" will surpass the earlier film's worldwide earnings. Nonetheless, the final results will become clearer in the upcoming weeks as box office data continues to emerge.

The seventh installment of the Scream franchise introduces a new Ghostface killer who disrupts the peaceful life of Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell, in a small town. When her daughter, portrayed by Isabel May, becomes a target, Sidney is forced to confront her past once again to protect her family and avert further tragedies.

As the box office competition heats up, fans and industry analysts are keen to see how "Scream 7" will ultimately compare to "The Bourne Identity." With its robust performance so far, the film has undoubtedly left its mark in the horror genre and the wider cinematic landscape.
