With a production cost of $150 million, the film boasts an impressive earnings-to-budget ratio of 2.47x. Although this figure exceeds the 2.4x return of another recent release, it pales in comparison to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which achieved a staggering 7.7x earnings-to-budget ratio. To break even, Hoppers must reach a total of $375 million worldwide, meaning it needs an additional $4.5 million to hit this target.

Currently, Hoppers stands as the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2026 in global earnings, as reported by Box Office Mojo. However, it may face challenges in maintaining this ranking, as Antoine Fuqua's musical drama, Michael, is quickly closing in with a gross of $277.8 million. The gap between the two films is approximately $92.7 million, suggesting that Hoppers could soon encounter fierce competition for its position.

In its ongoing run, Hoppers is also nearing the global earnings of the 2009 superhero film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, featuring Hugh Jackman. To surpass this film, Hoppers needs to earn about $2.6 million.
