Prime Video Unveils New Seasons of Popular Shows
Mumbai: On Thursday, Prime Video announced the launch of the fifth season of its acclaimed series Panchayat, along with new episodes of "Sandeep Bhaiya" and "Gram Chikitsalay," produced by The Viral Fever (TVF).
The beloved rural comedy-drama Panchayat is back for its fifth installment.
Under the direction of Deepak Kumar Mishra and penned by Chandan Kumar, this season sees Abhishek, an engineering graduate turned panchayat secretary, navigating a challenging work environment due to new, antagonistic leadership.
As he aims to pursue his MBA, he must first resolve his commitments in the village of Phulera.
The series will feature its original cast, including Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Saanvika, Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak, and Sunita Rajwar.
Since its debut in April 2020, the show has chronicled Abhishek's journey from a reluctant newcomer to a central figure in the local politics and social dynamics of Phulera.
"Gram Chikitsalay," which first aired in 2025, is also returning for its second season. Directed by Lalitam Tiwari and written by Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Srivastava, this season follows the idealistic Dr. Prabhat as he grapples with the challenges posed by Babu Saheb, a corrupt official affecting the Primary Health Centre's operations.
The cast includes Amol Parashar, Akash Makhija, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Vinay Pathak, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Garima Vikrant Singh, and Dinesh Lal Yadav (Nirahua).
"Sandeep Bhaiya" is also making a comeback for its second season, featuring the beloved character from the hit series "Aspirants."
Directed by Parijat Joshi and written by Nitin Tewari, this new chapter continues the story of Sandeep Ohlan (Sunny Hinduja), a civil services aspirant in Prayagraj, who faces his past when he unexpectedly encounters his ex-fiancée Kusum six years after their breakup.
The first season, which premiered in 2023, depicted Sandeep's journey following his unsuccessful UPSC attempts and his efforts to mentor a promising tiffin delivery girl.
Additionally, Prime Video is reviving "Sapne Vs Everyone," a comedy-drama series, for its second season.
Written and directed by Ambrish Verma, this season follows two men pursuing their dreams in contrasting worlds—Prashant, who strives to succeed in Mumbai's cutthroat film industry, and Jimmy, a real estate salesman known as the "Sales God," who seeks revenge on his uncle.
Both characters confront the age-old question of whether fate is predetermined or shaped by those daring enough to take action.
The release dates for these four shows have yet to be announced.
