Chennai: The team behind director Savin S A's Vaazha 2 has officially revealed that the film is set to premiere globally on April 2 of this year.
This announcement was shared on the film's official Instagram account @vaazhamovie, stating, "Vacation starts when #Vaazha2 comes!! #April2. Biopic of a Billion Bros. Director: Savin SA. Writer: Vipin Das. #VaazhaII @vaazhamovie."
In November of the previous year, the production team confirmed that filming for this highly anticipated sequel, featuring actors Hashir, Alan, Ajin, and Vijayan, had concluded.
Producer Vipin Das shared on Instagram, "After 115 days, it’s a wrap for 'Vaazha II - Biopic of a Billion Bros!' We are excited to introduce new talents alongside beloved actors to deliver an exceptional experience. See you in theaters soon!"
The first installment, Vaazha, directed by Anand Menen, starred notable actors such as Jagadheesh, Kottayam Nazeer, and Azees Nedumangad, and became a massive success.
This heartwarming film, which carried the tagline 'The biopic of a billion boys,' resonated with viewers and achieved remarkable box office success.
The film's popularity prompted the creators to develop a sequel, expanding the franchise.
When announcing the second part, producer Vipin Das expressed gratitude for the audience's support for Vaazha, stating, "Your enthusiasm has motivated me to continue working with fresh talent. We are thrilled to introduce 'Vaazha II - Biopic of a Billion Bros!' I’m proud to present our debut director, Savin SA, and cinematographer, Akhil Lailasuran, who have been with me throughout my journey. He also introduced the core team for the sequel, naming himself as the writer and Savin as the director, along with co-producers Harris Desom, P.B Anish, Adarsh Narayan, and Icon Cinemas.
Filming for Vaazha 2 took place in various locations, including Dubai and Georgia, with the team recently announcing the completion of their schedule in the UAE, totaling 106 shooting days.
