Sobhita Dhulipala Unveils Her Character in 'Cheekatilo'

Mumbai: Actress Sobhita Dhulipala is set to portray Sandhya in the upcoming crime thriller Cheekatilo, and she has shared insights about her role. She described the experience of embodying Sandhya as "a superb experience."

In her own words, Sobhita elaborated on Sandhya's character, stating, "She’s a proactive young woman who thinks independently and is unwavering in her beliefs despite facing opposition. Her decisions stem from a unique stubbornness with its own backstory."

Sobhita expressed that her character's roots in the streets of Hyderabad and her own cultural background made it easy and enjoyable to connect with Sandhya.

She remarked, "I am thankful for this incredible experience and our outstanding cast and crew—everyone brought their passion to the set daily. Being part of a Prime Original project is uniquely special."

Reflecting on her journey in the OTT space, from Made in Heaven to Cheekatilo, she found it to be an inspiring path.

Set against the backdrop of Hyderabad, the series follows Sandhya, a true crime podcaster who confronts some of the city's most harrowing secrets in her pursuit of the truth.

Cheekatilo also features Viswadev Rachakonda in a leading role, alongside Chaitanya Visalakshmi, Esha Chawla, Jhansi, Aamani, and Vadlamani Srinivas in significant parts.

Directed by Sharan Kopishetty and produced by D. Suresh Babu under Suresh Productions Pvt. Ltd., this gripping thriller is scheduled to premiere on January 23 on Prime Video.
