Akanksha Chamola Opens Up About Divorce on Reality Show

During the second season of the reality series "Lockup," Akanksha Chamola's personal life has taken center stage. In the show's debut episode, she disclosed her impending divorce from actor Gaurav Khanna, a revelation that caught many off guard as it was her first public acknowledgment of their relationship issues. In the third episode, she shared more details about the reasons for their split while chatting with fellow contestants Shreya Kalra and Soofi Motiwala.

Akanksha expressed that throughout their marriage, she never experienced a maternal instinct, despite being open to the idea. Over time, she came to the conclusion that motherhood was not a path she wished to pursue. She stated, "Gaurav now wants to become a father, but I have realized that motherhood is not something I want." She had previously communicated her feelings to Gaurav, suggesting that if he wished to leave her because of this difference, he was free to do so. Akanksha candidly questioned the purpose of marriage, noting that most people enter it with the intention of starting a family.

Furthermore, she clarified that she has no desire to adopt a child and prefers to remain child-free. As of now, Gaurav Khanna has not made any public comments regarding Akanksha's revelations. He is currently competing in the reality show "Khatron Ke Khiladi 15." Akanksha is recognized for her performances in series such as "Santoshi Maa," "Ye Hai Aashiqui," and "Crime Patrol." The couple tied the knot in 2016 after meeting during an audition, celebrating their union with a lavish three-day wedding in Kanpur on November 24, 2016.

Interestingly, this season marks the first time their differing views on parenthood have been publicly discussed. In a recent episode of "Bigg Boss," Gaurav became emotional when accused of using his wife's choice not to have children for sympathy. This incident unfolded in the final week when a reporter questioned his motives. Gaurav, visibly upset, defended Akanksha, stating that while he has always loved children and dreamed of fatherhood, few men would be willing to sacrifice their heartfelt desires for their wives. He emphasized that this is a sensitive issue for him and that he will always respect and support whatever decision his wife makes.
