Vikram Bhatt, a prominent figure in the horror film genre, has openly shared his experiences regarding the difficulties he faced with his film Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past. Recently, he has been candid about the various challenges that filmmakers encounter in the industry. Following the release of the trailer for Alpha, featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the actress faced a wave of harsh criticism online. Bhatt has come to Alia's defense, asserting that the backlash she received was excessively severe.

This isn't the first time Alia has faced online negativity. Her recent comments at the Cannes Film Festival about feeling overlooked drew significant attention and criticism. Similarly, the trailer for Alpha ignited a flurry of negative reactions on social media.

In a recent interview with News Media, Vikram Bhatt, who shares a close bond with the Bhatt family, addressed the trolling issue. He questioned, “What’s she getting trolled for?” and expressed his empathy for Alia, pondering the reasons behind such negativity. He condemned the ongoing trolling, stating that both the film and Alia do not deserve such harsh judgment. “If you don’t want to see it, don’t see it. Don’t watch the film!” he emphasized, adding that he found the trailer impressive and saw no flaws in it. Vikram firmly believes that personal attacks are unjustified, regardless of differing opinions.

Vikram Bhatt Discusses Paid Trolls

During the conversation, Vikram Bhatt also touched upon the issue of paid trolling, recalling how his film Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past faced similar challenges. After receiving a barrage of negative comments on the film’s trailer on YouTube, he and his team discovered that these were orchestrated by paid bots. “We found out that it was a paid campaign,” he noted, revealing that it costs around Rs 1 lakh to generate a thousand such comments. While he was unsure of the instigator, he remarked, “Obviously, someone doesn’t wish you well.”

Without going into too much detail, he mentioned that one actress had previously used this tactic against another. Vikram expressed concern that “films that rely on word-of-mouth can be very damaging” and called for serious action against such practices.
