Vikram Bhatt Responds to Criticism of Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past
Upcoming Horror Film Set for Release
Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt is gearing up for the launch of his latest project, *Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past*. This film acts as a sequel to the 2011 horror flick *Haunted 3D*, featuring actors Mimoh Chakraborty and Chetna Pande in prominent roles. Recently, the teaser for the film was unveiled but received backlash concerning its CGI effects. In light of this, Bhatt has shared his thoughts on the criticism.
**Educating Viewers on Cinema**
In an interview with a media outlet, Vikram Bhatt addressed the negative feedback regarding the teaser. He emphasized the importance of understanding cinema better, stating, "If you watch *Star Wars* and label it as CGI, what else would you expect from it?"
He further questioned, "Where am I supposed to find a real ghost? A ghost is meant to look like this! Interestingly, despite the initial complaints about excessive visual effects, the film was shot in actual locations. Some critics simply don't understand. These are genuine settings. While detractors will always exist, those who appreciate it will enjoy it immensely."
**The Existence of Ghosts**
Vikram also asserted that ghosts do exist, and he utilized makeup to ensure the apparition did not resemble a human, which he finds unfortunate. He remarked, "Despite what we have done in reality, people jump to conclusions, thinking it must be something else. What can we do? They have already decided it’s CGI, which shows their lack of understanding."
**Release Date Announced**
Vikram Bhatt's *Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past* is set to premiere in theaters on June 12. The film will compete at the box office with Imtiaz Ali's romantic musical, *Main Wapas Aaunga*, which stars Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari Wagh, Vedang Raina, and Naseeruddin Shah.
