Vedang Raina: The New Face of Imtiaz Ali's Cinema


Vedang Raina has been cast as the lead in Imtiaz Ali's latest film, Main Vaapas Aaunga, alongside Sharvari. After a two-year hiatus from the big screen, the 25-year-old actor is set to make a comeback. Known for his melodious voice, Vedang has contributed to the film's soundtrack, which is known for its chart-topping hits. In this film, he performs a romantic number, having previously lent his voice to the song Maskara, following Diljit Dosanjh. His latest track, Voh Nahin, showcases a touching love story, complemented by stunning visuals that depict themes of love, longing, sacrifice, and courage.


Exploring Love and Longing in 'Voh Nahin'


In Voh Nahin, Vedang portrays a character who is separated from his beloved, Sharvari, who remains in Punjab. Set against the backdrop of the pre-Independence era, he grapples with intense work pressures and local conflicts. Despite these challenges, memories of Sharvari provide him with hope. The song, written by Irshad Kamil and composed by A R Rahman, features vocals from Adithya RK, Armaan Khan, and Sameer Khan.



Vedang's Musical Contribution with 'Maskara'


Another song from the film, Maskara, features Vedang's vocals and follows Diljit’s Kya Kamaal Hai. Alia Bhatt was seen singing along to Maskara in a video shared while preparing for her appearance at Cannes. She expressed her support for Vedang and Sharvari, to which Vedang responded with enthusiasm, and Sharvari reciprocated with affection. Alia has previously collaborated with Vedang in the upcoming jailbreak drama, Jigra, while Sharvari stars alongside her in the spy thriller Alpha, produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Shiv Rawail.

The trailer for Main Vaapas Aaunga is set to premiere on May 18. The teaser features Diljit narrating the story, which unfolds in the pre-Partition era, focusing on Vedang and Sharvari's romance amidst socio-political challenges.
