After just 48 hours of its release, Satluj was removed from the OTT platform, and it is now unavailable for international audiences. Although the film was screened in Jammu for local communities, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee announced plans for more screenings in gurdwaras. During a live session on Instagram, Diljit Dosanjh encouraged fans to share copies on social media. In an interview with a media outlet, Varun Badola commented on the film's removal, stating he would never watch a pirated version. He emphasized, “We keep fighting against piracy. I understand that this situation is very different, but I still can’t advocate piracy. I won’t watch the pirated version. That’s a rule I’ve always followed.” He plans to watch it later.

Badola expressed strong disapproval of the ban on Satluj, describing the film's takedown as ‘robbery in broad daylight’. He noted that many films have faced bans in the past, suggesting that those in power often feel a need for course correction. He stated, “Only they know why they decided to ban our film.”

Varun further remarked that officials should have viewed Satluj before making the decision to ban it. For those unaware, a petition was filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against the ‘illegal’ public screenings of Satluj in Punjab. The Inter-Departmental Committee reviewed the film and concluded that it should remain inaccessible to the public in the country.
