Chennai, Jan 17: Director Shiv Mohaa's highly anticipated romantic thriller, 'Aasai', starring Kathir and Divya Bharathi, is scheduled to be released globally on March 6, as announced by the production team on Saturday.

On this occasion, the first look poster of the film was also unveiled.

Passion Studios, the film's production house, took to their X account to share the poster and confirm the release date, stating, "A love story wrapped in suspense… #Aasai releasing in theatres on March 6th."

The captivating first look poster showcases the film's raw intensity, featuring Kathir with cracked glasses and Divya Bharathi gazing tenderly as they lean close together against a sultry red backdrop. This imagery suggests a passionate romantic thriller filled with desire and peril.

For those unfamiliar, Shiv Mohaa, the film's director, is recognized for his debut film 'Zero'.

Discussing 'Aasai', Shiv Mohaa mentioned, “This romantic thriller was shot entirely in Chennai over 25 days. The film includes two songs composed by Revaa. The title 'Aasai' reflects the couple's entanglement in a complex web of issues stemming from their small desires.”

He expressed gratitude towards producer Sudhan Sundaram for his unwavering support during the film's production. He praised Kathir's outstanding performance and noted that audiences will witness a new side of Divya Bharathi in this film.

The director also acknowledged the commendable performances of supporting actors like Lingaa Dheena, Poorna, and Alexandar Samy.

He highlighted the contributions of his technical team, stating, "Revaa’s music and background score have significantly enhanced the film's intensity. Special thanks to cinematographer Babu Kumar IE for his visual artistry, which will be a major draw for the film. The editing by R Sudharsan, artwork by S Rajamohan, and costume design by Lentia have all been vital in shaping the film.
