Upcoming Film Releases: Ram Charan's 'Peddi' and 'Masters of the Universe' Clash
Exciting Film Releases This June
Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor's sports action film Peddi is set to hit theaters on June 4. This film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, will face competition from several other releases that week. Notably, Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde's Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai will premiere the following day, along with Travis Knight's Masters of the Universe, a live-action adaptation of the popular Mattel franchise featuring He-Man.
This new adaptation marks the second live-action film following the original 1987 version, with Nicholas Galitzine portraying Prince Adam/He-Man. Galitzine gained recognition for his role in the romantic drama Red, White & Royal Blue and will also star in the upcoming The Idea of You. In the Telugu version of Masters of the Universe, Karthikeya actor Nikhil Siddhartha lends his voice to He-Man, and he recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming box office competition between Peddi and Masters of the Universe.
In an exclusive interview, Nikhil expressed confidence in Peddi's success, stating, "It features Ram Charan, one of the biggest stars in the Telugu film industry, and is bound to be a blockbuster." He also mentioned that Masters of the Universe is releasing a day later, suggesting that audiences who miss out on Peddi can opt for his film instead.
Nikhil further elaborated on why he believes Masters of the Universe will perform well at the box office. He noted that the film's release coincides with the end of summer holidays, which could attract younger audiences eager to see it until June 15. Discussing his role as the voice of Nicholas Galitzine's He-Man, Nikhil remarked, "He is perfect for the role. I was captivated by his performance in the English version. His portrayal of Prince Adam is humorous and emotionally engaging, making it a thrilling experience for viewers."
Nikhil also drew parallels between his character in Masters of the Universe and his upcoming role in Swayambhu, stating, "He-Man is strong and charismatic, yet he has a kind heart and a great sense of humor. This aligns with my character in Swayambhu, making it easier for me to connect with the role." Masters of the Universe, which premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre on May 18, features a star-studded cast including Camila Mendes, Jared Leto, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Kristen Wiig, Morena Baccarin, and Idris Elba. Meanwhile, Peddi will also feature Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, Boman Irani, and Divyenndu in significant roles.
