Upcoming Comedy Film 'Welcome to the Jungle' Receives CBFC Approval with Edits
Film Release and Certification Details
The eagerly awaited comedy movie *Welcome to the Jungle* is set to premiere in just four days. Prior to its debut, the film was approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), but not without the requirement to modify 18 scenes.
Changes Required by the Censor Board
Upon submission for certification, the CBFC mandated alterations to 18 scenes. After the filmmakers made the necessary edits, the film was granted a UA 16+ rating.
What Edits Were Made?
To obtain the UA 16+ certificate, the Censor Board requested changes to various dialogues and intimate scenes. Notably, a 10-second segment was cut entirely. A line originally stating "Kala paida hua, koyla hai" (Born black, he is coal) was revised to "Saada paida hua, namuna hua hai" (Born plain, he turned out to be a weirdo). Additionally, mentions of "Pani of Kashmir" and "Gorkha Regiment" were replaced with the term "Army."
Furthermore, the name "Azharuddin" was altered to "Alauddin," and the term "Andha" (blind) was muted in favor of "Dheela" (loose). References to "General" were modified to "Officer" and "Sir." The filmmakers were also instructed to adjust scenes featuring bikinis and other sensual content, including a vulgar gesture by Vindu Dara Singh that was changed.
Film Duration and Release Date
Final Runtime
Following these modifications, the runtime for Akshay Kumar's film has been set at 2 hours, 44 minutes, and 50 seconds, allowing for a total viewing time of 164 minutes and 50 seconds under the UA 16+ certification. The film is slated for release on June 26 and is directed by Ahmed Khan.
