Mumbai: Collective Studios' Historyverse has announced the development of a new original series centered around the life of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, as revealed on Thursday.

This untitled series, created in collaboration with Hathiramani Commercial Ventures and co-produced by entrepreneur Manish Hathiramani, aims to delve into Bhagat Singh's early years, highlighting the influences and experiences that molded him into a prominent national figure, according to a press release.

Set against the backdrop of early 20th-century India, the series will explore the evolution of Bhagat Singh's thoughts and beliefs, ultimately shaping his legacy.

Sudeep Lahiri, who heads Channels and Distribution at Collective Media Network, expressed excitement about uncovering the lesser-known aspects of the iconic freedom fighter's life through this project.

"Certain historical figures seem well-known, yet Bhagat Singh's story is more complex. Behind the icon lies a young man whose ideas and experiences shaped his identity. This is the narrative we wish to explore," Lahiri stated.

This project marks Hathiramani's debut as a producer, and he expressed his enthusiasm for bringing this series to life.

"Bhagat Singh has always intrigued me, but I am particularly interested in the man before he became a legend. While we recognize him as a revolutionary and an icon, this series allows us to appreciate the various dimensions of his life and the journey that defined him," he shared.

Further details, including the show's title, cast, and director, will be disclosed in the future.

Historically, Hindi cinema has depicted Bhagat Singh's life in several films, such as The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002) featuring Ajay Devgn and Sunny Deol, 23rd March 1931: Shaheed (2002) with Bobby Deol, and the classic Shaheed (1965) starring Manoj Kumar.
