Mumbai: Renowned dancer and actress Helen, a legendary figure in the Hindi film industry, recently shared intriguing insights about her iconic dance costumes that defined her performances during the golden age of Bollywood.


As a special guest on the dance reality show, India's Best Dancer, Helen discussed her memorable fashion choices that made a significant impact during her career.


Judge Jaaved Jaaferi praised Helen for revolutionizing fashion and glamour in Indian cinema, noting her ability to challenge societal norms and set new trends with her bold outfits and elegance.


In response to the accolades, Helen explained her proactive approach to incorporating global fashion trends into her performances, revealing that she personally sourced unique fashion elements, including colored eye lenses from around the world.


"I traveled to London to bring back colored lenses in shades of blue, brown, and green, along with special eyelashes. My headpieces were crafted by my hairdresser, and I even visited Paris to find authentic feathers for my costumes. My jewelry, oversized sunglasses, and accessories were all chosen to stay ahead of the fashion curve," she shared.


Karisma Kapoor, another judge on the show, reminisced about Helen's captivating presence on set, recalling stories from her mother about the respect Helen commanded, similar to that of Shammi Kapoor.


Karisma noted that Helen had an incredible ability to learn dance steps on the fly during rehearsals.
